The Clauzel is a hamlet located in the village of Marquay (pronounce “Mark- I” if you want to fit in and pretend you are not a tourist :).
To get there, exit the road from Sarlat to Marquay and take a tiny road which is not much used. That small path goes up and up until you reach “the chalets du Clauzel”.
On your left, you will see our lovely stone house, which architecture is typical from the Perigord. Our 4 cottages are there, decorating the charming little hills. On the other side, you will see the great house of our nice neighbours. We are sure that the view of their manor will not spoil the magnificence of the place !
Surrounded by pines, oaks, pruniers, apple trees, cherry trees, cytise, you are now in the middle of the beautiful nature. You have arrived.
So now, just close your eyes and smell the great mint’s, rosemary’s and melisse’s smells. And do not forget to listen to the peaceful birds’ songs.
This is called “fulfillment”. Just enjoy and relax !
