History et prehistory…
Welcome in Dordogne, Périgord Noir. Montignac (Lascaux), Les Eyzies (world capital of prehistory) and La Roque-Gageac (ranked by the most beautiful villages in France). These incredible sites are all around the Chalets du Clauzel. Marquay, the town on which our cottages are located, is in the middle of this “tourist triangle”. At least thirty exceptional sites less than 30 minutes from home : Lascaux, Castle of Castelnaud, La Roque Saint-Christophe, historical center of Sarlat… And so close to the Clauzel, Castle of Commarque, Castle of Puymartin, les Cabanes du Breuil and l’Abri de Cap blanc (prehistoric site ranked on the World Heritage of Unesco).
Sport et relaxing
Enough castles, caves and prehistoric sites ? Rent a canoe at La Roque-Gageac. The journey is delightful. Visit the beautiful gardens of Marqueyssac, where you can practise via ferrata and enjoy a candlelit evening (night walks and musical entertainment).
But you know what ? If you prefer to spend the week sunbathing beside the pool, we will not blame you!
